Tax Notebook allows you to submit your tax data through the convenience of the Internet. The way it works is simple:

• Using any PC with an Internet connection, you access Tax Notebook directly off our web site with a unique Logon ID and Password that we provide.
• You are guided through a personal tax interview that is much more intuitive than the traditional paper organizer.
• When finished, simply click a button to send us your tax information via a secure link. You can also print a copy of your tax data for your records.

That’s all there is to it!

Tax Notebook speeds the preparation of your tax return and ensures it’s accurate. Rest assured, you can ALWAYS count on the secure transfer of your data over the Internet.

We are pleased to announce that we will continue to provide the intuitive Tax Notebook . Tax Notebook is much more than just a web-based Tax Organizer – it ensures you never overlook important tax data and is much easier to complete! It even allows you to conveniently use your home computer to provide us with your tax data. All you need is an Internet connection to submit your information via this secure, dependable online tool.

Completing your Tax Notebook is easy! Simply link to the individual Tax Notebook that was designed exclusively for you and your family. You can then answer all the questions and complete relevant sections of the Tax Notebook online. When your Tax Notebook is complete, print a copy of the organizer for your own records, and then submit your tax information to us with just the click of a button! Your information is always secure and will not be seen by anyone but the tax professionals at our firm.

Moreover, by using this tool you are not required (in most cases) to provide any further documents (other than the consent form noted below) to our firm. You simply input your data in the Tax Notebook. However, if you are unsure on how to input an item or two, simply call the number noted below or e-mail us directly. When we receive your e-mail or message, we will call you to clarify the issue.

As previously mentioned, please download a “Participant Agreement & Consent Form” from our site at http://www.gemms.us/Consent_Forms.  This form must be completed, signed, dated by you and your spouse, if any, and returned to GEMMS before we can finalize your returns. This document is often misplaced or forgotten so we suggest that you please fax or mail a copy to the address below as soon as possible (i.e. there is no need to wait until the Tax Notebook is complete to submit this form.)

Please complete the organizer as soon as possible but no later than February 28, 2011.

Finally, when you complete your Tax Notebook, an automatic e-mail will be sent to us notifying that your Tax Notebook is complete and ready for preparation of your tax return. However, sometimes the e-mail gets lost in the “internet black hole.” Therefore, we will reply with a confirmation that we have received your Tax Notebook within 2 business days. If you do not receive a confirmation within 2 business days, please contact us directly at (678) 625-7641.

To begin preparing your return or to simply take a look at the program, enter the icon located on the left side of this page titled 2010 Tax Notebook.  Please be careful not to enter the 2010 notebook.

New for 2006 but still in effect – If you would like your return electronically submitted to the Internal Revenue Service, please provide a copy of a check from the bank account(s) to which you would like the refunds deposited.  You will have a chance to review the entire return prior to e-filing but we must have a copy of the check before we complete your return in order confirm the account and routing numbers are accurate.

You must temporarily disable your “pop-up blocker” prior to utilizing the tax notebook. Otherwise, the notebook will appear to be malfunctioning especially while inputting your travel / workday calendar information. If you do not know how to disable your pop-up blocker contact your technical support group.

Please do not send us any original documents.  If the documents are lost in the mail, there is no way for us to replace them.  Further, please fax or e-mail the documents to save time.  (If you do send us original documents, they will be returned at your cost.)
